The honor society for the computing and information disciplines welcomed new members on April 27 during McKendree University's annual Academic Excellence Celebration.

A total of 11,758 students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Kent Weiser, executive director of intercollegiate athletics, named 36 student-athletes from all 15 of Emporia State's intercollegiate sports as 2016-17 Earl W. Sauder Athletic Scholars. Those student-athletes were celebrated Nov. 28 during the annual luncheon at the Sauder Alumni Center.

McKendree University welcomes a record number of first-year students this fall to its Lebanon, Ill., campus; Kentucky campuses; the Center at Scott Air Force Base; and online. The Class of 2020 represents 28 states and 20 countries!

To be eligible for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.
